Terms of Service

The Simple Version

Before the legal stuff, here's what you need to know:

• Abegna is a platform for Nigerians to help each other with small financial needs
• You must be 18+ and have a Nigerian phone number and bank account
• We take 0% commission — 100% of donations go to recipients
• Maximum request is ₦30,000; minimum is ₦500
• Don't scam, lie, or abuse the platform — we'll ban you
• We're not responsible if someone misuses funds they receive

1. Who Can Use Abegna

To use Abegna, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Have a valid Nigerian phone number
• Have a Nigerian bank account in your name
• Provide accurate information when registering
• Not have been previously banned from Abegna

One person = one account. Creating multiple accounts will result in all accounts being banned.

2. How Requests Work

When you create a request:

• You can request between ₦500 and ₦30,000
• You should provide an honest reason (though it's optional)
• Your request is visible to all users unless you delete it
• Requests expire after 7 days
• You can have up to 3 active requests at once

We don't verify the accuracy of reasons given. Givers donate at their own discretion.

3. How Giving Works

When you give to a request:

• 100% of your donation goes to the requester (we take 0%)
• Payments are processed securely via Paystack
• Donations are final and non-refundable
• You can give anonymously if you choose
• You're giving freely — this is not a loan

4. Withdrawals

To withdraw funds you've received:

• Standard withdrawal (free) takes 24-48 hours
• Instant withdrawal (₦100 fee) arrives within minutes
• Minimum withdrawal is ₦500
• Funds go directly to your linked bank account

5. What's Not Allowed

You agree not to:

• Create fake requests or lie about your needs
• Create multiple accounts
• Use someone else's identity or bank account
• Spam, harass, or abuse other users
• Use Abegna for illegal activities
• Attempt to hack or manipulate the platform
• Solicit donations for others without their consent

Breaking these rules will result in immediate account termination and potential legal action.

6. Our Responsibilities (and Limits)

We provide the platform. That's it. Specifically:

• We don't verify the truthfulness of requests
• We don't guarantee any request will be funded
• We're not responsible for how recipients use funds
• We're not a party to transactions between users
• We don't provide financial advice

We do our best to remove scams and bad actors, but give at your own discretion.

7. Your Account

You're responsible for:

• Keeping your account credentials secure
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Keeping your profile information accurate
• Notifying us if you suspect unauthorized access

8. Termination

We can suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, abuse the platform, or for any other reason at our discretion. You can also delete your account anytime from the app settings. Deleting your account will forfeit any unreceived donations.

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes via the app or email. Continued use of Abegna after changes means you accept the new terms.
