About Abegna
We're building the infrastructure for Nigerians to help each other, quickly and without shame.
Our Story
We've all been there. Staring at our phones at midnight, needing ₦3,000 before morning, wondering who to ask without feeling embarrassed.
We've watched people send the same WhatsApp message to 15 contacts, crafting each one slightly differently, dying a little inside with each "seen" that gets no reply.
We've seen brilliant students fail courses over ₦5,000. Job seekers miss interviews because they couldn't afford transport. Families skip meals because salary came late.
Abegna exists because Nigeria has money, generosity, and community — but no infrastructure to move help to where it's needed, when it's needed.
Nigerians, most just one emergency away from crisis
Spent on mobile data yearly — money exists
Platforms built for small, urgent needs... until now
Our Mission
To make asking for help as normal as asking for directions. To build the fastest, simplest way for Nigerians to help each other with small, urgent needs — without shame, without commission, without wahala.
Our Vision
A Nigeria where no one suffers in silence over ₦5,000. Where asking isn't embarrassing because everyone does it. Where generosity flows freely because the infrastructure finally exists.
What We Stand For
Zero Commission
100% of every donation goes to the person who needs it. We'll never tax generosity.
Speed First
When you need help tonight, a 3-day process is useless. We move fast.
Trust & Safety
Real people, verified accounts, protected transactions. We keep everyone safe.
Dignity Always
Asking for help is human. We'll never shame, expose, or pressure our users.
What We're Not
❌ We're not a loan app
No interest rates. No debt collectors. No calls to your contacts. We're not Carbon, FairMoney, or any of those apps that trap people in debt cycles.
❌ We're not a charity platform
We're not for ₦5 million medical campaigns. We're for the ₦5,000 you need to survive until payday. Small, urgent, real needs.
❌ We're not taking your money
Zero commission means zero. When someone gives ₦1,000, you get ₦1,000. We make money from optional features, not from donations.
❌ We're not selling your data
Your financial needs are private. We don't sell user data to advertisers, loan apps, or anyone else. Ever.
Built in Nigeria, For Nigeria
We understand the struggle because we've lived it. We know why ₦3,500 at midnight feels like a mountain. We know the shame of asking. We know the relief of receiving help.
This isn't a Silicon Valley startup trying to "disrupt" a market they don't understand. This is Nigerians building for Nigerians.
