Question 1

So what exactly is AbegNa? Is this like GoFundMe?

Accepted Answer

A place to ask for or give small amounts (up to ₦30,000). Everyone is phone-verified. Name is Pidgin: "Abeg na" = "Please help us."

Question 2

How much can I receive?

Accepted Answer

Between ₦500 and ₦30,000 per request. Perfect for urgent 2k, 5k, or 10k needs — transport, medicine, data, food. The cap keeps it for real, urgent needs. You can get it from one person or many.

Question 3

I just need ₦2,000 urgently. Is AbegNa even for that small amount?

Accepted Answer

Yes. AbegNa is built for exactly that — urgent 2k, 3k, 5k, 10k. If you need small money fast (transport, data, medicine, food), you post once, people send ₦200–₦500, and help arrives in minutes. No loan apps, no interest, no shame.

Question 4

Is it safe? How do you prevent fraud?

Accepted Answer

Everyone verifies with their phone. We check activity and reports. The ₦30k cap keeps fraud incentives low. Money goes to verified people.

Question 5

How do I receive my money?

Accepted Answer

Withdraw to your Nigerian bank anytime via Paystack. ₦100 per withdrawal. No percentages, no hidden fees.

Question 6

Does it work without a smartphone?

Accepted Answer

Right now you need a smartphone and internet. USSD for feature phones is something we are working toward — we will announce it when it is ready.

Question 7

How is this different from GoFundMe?

Accepted Answer

GoFundMe is for big international campaigns. We are Nigeria-only, Naira only, phone-verified, capped at ₦30k. For the ₦15k that keeps your child in school, not for raising millions.

Question 8

When does AbegNa launch?

Accepted Answer

Q2 2026, Lagos first. Waitlist gets you in line; first 100 get free withdrawals for life.

Question 9

Is this a charity?

Accepted Answer

No. We are a tech platform. We connect people who need help with people who want to give. Money goes giver → receiver via Paystack. We charge ₦100 per withdrawal to run the platform.
